Seeing the Resurrection: It’s all around you (Sunrise Service)
The tomb is empty. Death is empty. The great and heavy door stands open and the light pours in where there was only darkness. The graveclothes lie undressed and neatly folded on a stone slab and the anointing oils are no longer needed. An angel steers us away as there is a garden growing just outside. We may not believe at first, but we end up meeting the one we have always been looking for, just as we are turning away from that death.
The experience of that first Easter morning, of resurrection itself, is still close at hand. That same heavy door is left open. We can look in and see that death has no place there. The light is breaking through and showing us a hope that can barely be imagined. Death no longer holds sway. We don't have to be afraid anymore. God in Jesus is doing a new thing and that means a new life in us that cannot be taken away, but that starts with meeting and experiencing the risen Christ.
Join us this Sunday as we experience the resurrection of Jesus Christ.
